Rich colours and organic shapes combine in Fumee (The Steam) by Quebec based artist Philippe Lareau. The soft, billowing lines of smoke appear caricatured as they rise from the small mouth of the vase. Equally organic in form, a deep cyan coloured vase pops with an internal hit of vibrant orange, coming together against a cool backdrop to create a work with strong composition and soothing forms.
