Paper Collective is thrilled to introduce the sculptural practice of renowned Japanese glass artists Baku Takahashi - better known as Baku Glass. Created in an edition of 7 pieces available exclusively from Paper Collective, Mental Pictures 02 is formed through the shaping of clear molten glass at over 1,000 degrees in temperature, with coloured glass powder added and fused with Baku's glass forms. They are then cold worked - carved and polished to reveal layers of the inner crystal clear glass, providing the final piece with an added three-dimensionality.
His forms are inspired by memories of landscapes, objects and contemporary culture, brought together in an intuiative and dream-like manner.
