The classic form of a chesterfield becomes the protagonist within The Sofa by Stockholm based artist Jonna Valtner. The muted brown form of the undulating seating corner creates a sense of texture, whilst allowing the composition in oil paint on canvas to almost disappear into a world of green toned grey. Subdued and sophisticated, the work pays homage to the heavily curated scenes of classic films, allowing just a slice of the whole picture.
